International Classic Motorshow was held from 24 to 26 February, in the Casa de Campo’s Fairgrounds
The 8th edition of the International Classic Motorshow brought together hundreds of cars and motorcycles, living reflection of the social changes of the 20th century and received the visit of more than 40,000 people
Along the three days were a score of twenty parallel activities that aroused the interest of visitors
Madrid, February 2017.- The eighth edition of the International ClassicAuto Motorshow, which was held from 24 to 26 February in the Glass Pavilion of the Casa de Campo’s Fairgrounds, confirmed that the passion for the classic vehicles in Spain is still unstoppable and that, far from, it persists in its generational renewal. ClassicAuto Madrid 2017 was visited by 40,000 people who had the ability to dissect the proposals that showed about 300 exhibitors that attended this year.
The Organization of ClassicAuto Madrid struck the opinion of fans about the event through the survey carried out among visitors. Finally, the 70 per cent stands out as good or excellent the program of activities raised in this edition.
ClassicAuto 2017 devoted special attention to the popular vehicles and motor sport. The Seat 600 was one of the protagonists of this Edition, by be the engine reminiscent of memories of many of them visitors. The Martorell’s company presented an exhibition with four models representing important moments in the process of production of this popular car that built between 1957 and 1973. Thus is could see cars of the series N (the first), D (1963-1969), E (1970-1972) and L (the last generation).
SEAT completed its presence with a commemorative exhibition of the 1977 Monte Carlo Rally, in which two 124 1800 Group 4 were classified as third and fourth positions absolute, which represented the first major result of a Spanish team in international rallying. The expositive supply of ClassicAuto Madrid Motorshow presented jewels of automotive brands such as Aston Martin, Mercedes, Jaguar, Mercedes, Hispano-Suiza, Rolls Royce and Packard, among others. In the segment of the two wheels also we gave a ride by the history. The exhibition presented motorcycles of all time: pre-war, post-war, dynamic sixties and consolidated seventies and eighties; for all segments: urban, off road, competition,…; and a host of national and international brands (Bultaco, Montesa, Vespa, Harley Davidson, Norton, Ossa, Derbi, Yamaha, Suzuki, BMW, Lube, Lambretta, etc.).
Madrid’s Fire Department showed in this edition two historical vehicles: a 1934 Delahaye and a 1949 Dennis. And carried out several drills of release of injured in accident of traffic. ClassicAuto Madrid Motorshow hosted a new edition of its already traditional Concours d’Elegance, that this year is focused in them Convertible Cars prior to 1955. Attended eight spectacular vehicles, but only one could be the winner, and that honour took him Isotta Fraschini owned by Francisco Pueche. The award for the best staging went to 1930 Chrysler 77 of Elías Moreno.
The Contest of Restoration of Motorcycles prior to 1970 is held in the afternoon of the Saturday. The jury determined that the award in the category of series out for a 1964 MV Agusta Sella, in the section sport obtained the award a 1970 Montesa Impala and in moped the recognition fell in a 1970 Ducati 48 Sport.
The programme of parallel activities of ClassicAuto Madrid 2017 included the celebration of twenty acts. ClassicAuto Madrid Motorshow also hosted presentations of the Spain Rallies Championship for historical vehicles of the Royal Spanish Federation of Motoring and the calendar of activities for 2017 of the Historic Endurance program.

The Salon also hosted the presentation of the book photographic “W123” on the Mercedes-Benz car, work of the photographer Jose Pardo and with texts of the journalist Ruben Santamarta.
